What if a factory could be made portable? What could you build?

Robotic Factory Technology

Factory robots have been engineered for precision and require controlled environments -

Numerical controlled machines can contour, level, and mill out surfaces as well as place components.  Robotic arms can assemble, spray, and weld parts. 3D Printers can fabricate parts. Conveyor belts can move assemblies from one station to the next. And, heavy parts can be lifted and moved within the factory by hoists and gantries automatically.   All of these machines can be controlled by software and be connected within the factory to other machines via wireless and cloud connectivity.   Quality control can be monitored with precision and accuracy to be within a hair width.

Industrial Mobile Robotic Technology

Mobile robotics have been engineered for the construction industry and are built for durability -

Automated robots have been developed for the construction industry to excavate, level, drill, paint, weld, extrude and perform other tasks to fabricate a building out at a construction site. These robots can perform construction tasks remotely and at times autonomously.  With GPS, sensors, and software systems like BIM, automation at construction sites will become more common and will dramatically reduce construction costs, time to build, and quality control of a build.   But, robotic construction devices are limited to specific tasks such as moving dirt or laying bricks.  And, mobile robotic devices have not yet been developed to be as precise as robots in factory settings that have controlled environments.

The Portable Factory

Construction Robotic Gantry - CRG

The CRG is a combination of various robotic technologies with innovative mobile infrastructures that bring factory precision machines and linear robotic technologies out to construction sites.

The CRG is a Hybrid 3D Fabricator that combines additive fabrication technology such as 3D Printing and mortar application processes with automated brick laying technology and automated earth moving equipment. All of this fits inside an articulated expandable construction device that can expand over 75 ft and lift up to 6 tons of material.

In layman’s terms – the CRG is a giant 3D Printer, CNC Router, SMT Machine, floorplan printer, and linear assembly robot that is built into a bridge like structure called a gantry.  This gantry is portable and can be transported to a construction site where it can expand over the site and have automated robotic arms with attachments move along the gantry bridge sliding back and forth pushing dirt, lifting and placing objects, and extruding concrete material.

Once again, what would you build with a portable factory!

Founder and President -

Kent Pearson is an avid entrepreneur / inventor and successfully launched 2 award winning startups with worldwide distribution and offices in the US and Hong Kong.  President and CTO of Liquid Image, he developed wireless and 4G LTE products for the consumer electronic industry and the sports industry,  Mr. Pearson oversaw product development for Liquid Image which received numerous Innovation awards at CES including Best of Innovations Personal Electronics 2013. During his time with Liquid Image, he spent nearly 2-3 months a year for the past 15 years in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan overseeing product and tooling development for over 100 consumer electronic products and accessories. He also set up factory production lines that utilized robotic arms and other automated equipment such as computer numerical control machining centers, surface mount technology machines, EDM Machines, 3D Fabricators, and Linear Robotic Systems. He has designed and optimized automation equipment and Jigs to improve productivity in factories, set up ERP systems and BOM lists to control material, and developed sensors and software to improve quality control and performance on the production line. Mr. Pearson was also the lead System Architect for the products and managed software, firmware, and application engineering teams from the USA, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Russia, Israel, and the UK.
